# Shared knowledge for condensed matter physics: What one lab learns should help every other lab > My goal is a condensed matter physics where what one lab learns helps every other lab. What was tried, what didn't work and which simple explanations were already ruled out should be easy to find, and AI should help researchers work through it. This is an open science effort, built on open-source tools made for data that labs want to keep private. A proposal by David Sendor (david@sendorai.com), v0.1 draft. It sets out a vision for the field, in which what one lab learns helps every other lab, and three phases toward it. Phase 1: open-source, model-agnostic agentic research assistants for researchers and referees that know condensed matter, list known lookalikes and related work, raise simple explanations, ask how many devices showed the effect, and package and tag the data. Phase 2: a quick, citable record of what has been tried, including the less exciting results that don't make a paper, with an effort level on each note and an optional run log, built on open repositories. Phase 3: shared knowledge for the field, including the run log as the field default, pooled controls, credit for careful work and models trained on measured data. It is an open science effort, and it needs journal editors and senior academics to buy in. Every factual claim has an id, a source URL, a confidence, and a checked flag (Human-checked or AI only). ## Full text - [The case as markdown, with claim ids](/reproducible-cmp.md) ## Data - [workflow.json: the five steps and the systems underneath, with who sees what](/data/workflow.json) - [cmp.json: everything on the site, with claims](/data/cmp.json) ## Pages - [The case in brief](/) - [1.
